Welcome to Warkworth Old Post Office

Warkworth Old Post Office Bed and Breakfast sits in a superb location at the heart of the pretty medieval Northumbrian village of Warkworth, with its 12th century castle, galleries, gift shops, patisserie and pubs. The village is surrounded on three sides by the river Coquet, providing scenic riverside walks up to the old hermitage and the stunning, sandy beach is a 5 minute walk away.

Warkworth provides an ideal base for exploring all that Northumberland has to offer, including Alnwick castle (made famous in the Harry Potter films) and Alnwick garden, a project developed by the Duchess of Northumberland, both of which are a 10 minute drive away. The nearby Cheviot Hills and coastal routes are a paradise for walkers and cyclists.

The Old Post Office is a grade II listed building dating back to the 18th century, which previously operated as a post office, but now offers high quality, affordable accommodation all year round.

All bedrooms are en suite and provide double, twin and family accommodation.

Our passion is good food and guests can enjoy breakfasts using high quality local produce – Northumbrian griddle cakes with hot, buttery apple slices and creamed Northumbrian cheese are popular with vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike; you can also add a couple of rashers of crispy bacon!

The best cooked brekkie I have ever had at a B&B/hotel. Central location to the village of Warkworth with castle on the hill and lively pubs nearby. " - Cass
